The following artists currently have works on display at THE LOFT GALLERY. These images are representative examples of their works. Availability of these works is as current as humanly possible...they do go fast!!

TONY DI FRANCESCO, a resident of Northern Virginia, grew up in South Jersey surrounded by farms. One of his earliest memories is digging up clay in the fields. Thats when he discovered his talent for sculpting. It wasn't until 1996 that he took his first sculpting class.  Over the years he's taken more classes at the Art League School and spent hours teaching himself anatomy. In 2008 he set up a Studio in the Loft Art Center, adjacent to the Gallery. Since then he has completed many new works and has become a juried artist at The Workhouse Art Center in addition to the Loft.

"Most of my figure and portrait sculptures are realistic. Some are more stylized with exaggerated features or surreal in composition. My passion is to create sculptures that tell a story and compel people to touch, yielding to their immagination as the clay once yielded to my fingers. Thats when they're transformed from observers into participants."

In 2009 Some of Tony's sculptures were juried into three different Shows at the Art League Gallery. On August 13th, he will receive his first award in the same gallery at the Torpedo Factory. It is an Honorable Mention in the Washington Square Show for his sculpture, ' Civilization '.
