LYNN MARTIN (Watercolor, Oils & Acrylics) – Lynn’s artwork is inspired by nature, travel, every day experiences, objects and scenes. She works in acrylics, watercolor, oils, pen and ink, and enjoys exploring different processes and approaches to painting.
Her early work in graphite and pen and ink were largely representational, and included botanical and scientific illustrations. After “graduating” from a full-time federal career in water resources science and policy, Lynn has redirected her artistic focus. She now embraces color and new techniques, experimenting with different painting surfaces, and combining media to achieve effects relevant to a subject, sentiment or mood. Her broad range of interests influences her painting subjects and approaches.
Lynn is a member of the Springfield Art Guild, and has participated in numerous shows in Northern Virginia, and has done commissioned paintings for private collectors. She enjoys introducing beginning artist to sketching and watercolor.
