Claire Bentley retired in 2007 from teaching and began watercolor classes at the Workhouse Art Center. That began her love of watercolor and many experiences with classes, workshops, outings, and overseas travel. She also uses acrylics and mixed media, although watercolor is still her preferred medium. She is a member of the Springfield Art Guild, Virginia Watercolor Society, and The Loft Gallery in Occoquan, VA and has participated in numerous Virginia art exhibits.

Time to Reflect – Pandemic Emotions
The pandemic of 2020 will certainly be remembered! It has been such a difficult year and a half for all. Initially, I did not realize my paintings were reflecting my own emotions about the pandemic. They were landscapes but they evoked certain feelings. I expanded the series and put it together as my exhibit. Watercolor, acrylics, ink and mixed media were used. I invite you to view the paintings, take the time to reflect and to appreciate the positive circumstances we now find ourselves. We have come a long difficult way.
