Francesca Di Lorenzo (Sculptor) is a resident of Alexandria, VA. She began sculpting in the 1990’s when she discovered she loved working in clay and sculpting figures from life. Her love of sculpting along with its many challenges when creating a realistic sculpture has evolved into a second path in life after spending many years working in the area of administration for patent law firms.
In producing a sculpture, she looks to capture the inner being and character of the model which she hopes is reflected in her final piece. She sculpts mainly in clay. The clay is fired in a kiln and is then referred to as “terra cotta” or “fired clay”. Several of her works have been cast in bronze and are available. She welcomes the opportunity to discuss her work and her availability to create individual pieces on a commission basis.
