“DIFFERENT PATHS” explores the many aspects of human and animal life through their pastel paintings and sculptures.
DEANNA BOLING – Deanna’s passion is painting animals. She finds challenge in bringing out their individuality, essence or “voice”. Pretty birds and not-so-pretty birds, big animals and small are her muses. She offers her viewers intimate portraits and glimpses into typical behaviors. Deanna starts with a detailed contour drawing, then works from broad color patches to fine detail. Deanna has been a “signature” member of the Pastel Society of America since 2003.
FRANCESCA DI LORENZO – Francesca’s sculptures are from life. She uses live models to capture the many nuances of the human figure in the traditional sculptural style. Her sculptures celebrate the beauty and differences of life which are depicted in her interpretation of the human form. More recently, Francesca has been sculpting figures from the animal kingdom. Once the three-dimensional sculpture is completed using a water-based clay, the piece is completely dried and fired in a kiln. Thereafter, a patina is applied to the sculpture.
