“Paths of Light” showcases the artistry of Mike Flynn, who paints landscapes in both watercolors and oils, to captivate the viewer with sunlight on land and water. Mike has been a member of the Loft Gallery for two years.
Mike Flynn – About twenty years ago, Mike discovered watercolors with a few evening classes, but he is mostly self-taught. He began painting in oils about five years ago and found it a true challenge, but he enjoys the similarities of the two medias: developing composition and value patterns, achieving lights and darks, and creating interesting brushwork.
Since 2016, Mike has been teaching watercolor and mixed media to adults at the Arts Factory, Manassas, VA (formerly Center-for-the-Arts at the Candy Factory).
