Claire Bentley – (Watercolors) is originally from New York. While teaching in NYC, she took some art courses at the Art Students League mainly as a stress releaser. She found that she really enjoyed each one. Then marriage, children and a move to Virginia put a hold on her art pursuits until she retired in 2007.

At a chance meeting at the Workhouse Art Center she met Marni Maree and was invited to take a watercolor class. That began her love of watercolor and many experiences with classes, workshops, outings, and overseas travel. She also has painted with acrylics, oil and mixed media, although watercolor is still her preferred medium. Painting people, flowers, scenery and pets are favorite subjects.
