LYNN MARTIN (Watercolor, Oils & Acrylics) – Lynn’s artwork is inspired by nature, travel, and every day experiences, objects and scenes. Working in acrylics, watercolor, ink, and oils, she enjoys combining media to achieve effects relevant to a subject, sentiment, or mood.
Lynn’s early work in graphite and pen and ink were largely representational and included botanical and scientific illustrations. After “graduating” from a full-time federal career in water resources science and policy, she redirected her focus to art. She now uses a range of paint media, techniques and styles in creating her art, applying knowledge gained through self-study, workshops, and experimentation. Lynn is seldom without a sketchbook, and she enjoys introducing beginning artists to sketching and painting. She has also created commissioned paintings for private collectors.
Lynn is a member of the Potomac Valley Watercolorists, and the Springfield Art Guild, and a guest artist with Vale Arts. She has participated in numerous local and regional shows, with work juried into shows sponsored by the Springfield Art Guild; the Artists in Middleburg Gallery, Middleburg, VA; Art Council of the Fairfax, Fairfax, VA; Historic Manassas Banner Art, Manassas, VA; Liberty Town Arts, Fredericksburg, VA; Gallery Underground, Arlington, VA; Art and Frame of Falls Church, Falls Church, VA; and, “Art at the Mill”, Burwell-Morgan Mill, Millwood, VA.
